Best thing I can say about this book is that it had a great plot.Aliens land from another planet, use EMP to knock out a town power supply, round up all the people, and do mining --- No One on the planet notices alien ships entering the planet.
No one notices that a town is no longer is communicating (I guess no one in this town ever got a telephone call or had deliveries made to the town) with anyone
The story is full of glaring errors of this type.

I don't know any about this author, this is first of his books I have read. But I must say I really enjoyed it. I recommend it.
The story reminds one that hunting is not that bad a skill to keep. As many recent conflicts have shown technology is not the end all. Simple skills need to not be forgotten . A great plot and the individuals are well fleshed out.
I only read the first 1/6th. Some may love this book. It seemed well written but had nothing that I liked. No magic or supernatural or sci tech. Yes it was written in a sci fi world but it could have taken place any time. A man with a bow in midevil times, a cave man with a sling. Maybe the sci fi becomes a factor later but not soon enough for me.
That's all I can say about a son who would lay on a hill and allow his mother be first abused then killed all while watching though a telescopic sight on a rifle capable of at least helping his mother!
He's Not tough, he's a coward!
Hope there are follow up books of so they'll end up in my shopping cart. Loved the NightStalker book too and am hoping for a follow-up
Simple but great story good characters,authentic detail and description,worth the time looking forward to see what happens to them next
I heard of this series from M. Anderle's Kurthurian Saga Posts. Its not very long but I really enjoyed it and although somewhat predictable I enjoyed the interactions of the characters and am looking for the next in the series. Make sure you get the Book 1-3 edition. What surprised me was; no special powers, no found technology, no AI, no anything but what a resourceful young man can bring to the table when confronted with having most everything he loved stripped away. This is just a good read that left me glad that I read it and wondering where it will go from here.
